Language Arts - Period 1 and 2 - There will be a quiz on The Red Kayak tomorrow.
                                 The students should study over their vocabulary sheet this evening to prepare.
Social Studies - Period 3 and 4 - we will have a quiz Monday on Using Globes (G4-G5)
                         Students will receive a study guide tomorrow in class and review Friday. Students  
                         should study G4 and G5 to prepare.

There were no Language Arts classes today due to Dibels testing.
Social Studies - Students received their current events paper. It is due by September 25th. Look for an article and summarize it.

                                                       Spelling Test on The Red Kayak
Social Studies - The Current Events summary is due tomorrow
                          Students must finish classwork from today: Define vocabulary on page G4
                          Complete the one-side of the worksheet using G4 and G5.
                          Remind the students they need to read the pages to answer the questions.

                           We will have our Spelling test on Friday.
                           We had an enlightening discussion on context clues today in class.
Social Studies - The current events summary is due Friday.
                          We are in the process of finishing up a collage showing the location of oceans and
                          continents on a map.

Social Studies - Periods 3 and 4 - Begin looking for a current event article. DO NOT write a summary yet. We will do an example in class.
The first current events summary is due on September 11th.
