There will be no written homework this weekend.
We will have a quiz on Thunder Rose next Thursday.
Students already have their vocabulary in their ELA folders.
We began reading the story today. Monday we will complete our first reading.
Students are more than welcome to take the text home to reread the story at any time.

We are finishing up our CDT testing in class.
Tomorrow, we will work on subjects and predicates as well as dive into the wacky world of Limericks.

Today we focused on our CDT testing for the majority of class.
Students need to complete their final draft for the How-to writing by tomorrow.
Students also have a complete subject/complete predicate worksheet to finish.

We were working on editing and revising our How-To writing assignment in class today.
Tomorrow, we will work on our final draft.
Students were asked to be sure their rough drafts have transition words, and no spelling errors this evening for homework.
The Red Kayak quizzes are in the process of being graded. I have gone through about 3,000 answers. Only about 1,100 more to go....I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Students should have their grades within a day or two.

We were working on the Red Kayak trifold today in class.
Students are permitted to take the text home if they would like.
We will have the quiz this Thursday. Students may study the following to prepare:

3. Homographs
4. Story Elements/Key terms
5. Trifold and text pages 26-41

Periods 1, 2, and 3 - Complete the  Homograph worksheet
- Select any two homographs.
Write a sentence, with context clues, that shows you know the meaning.
Draw a small illustration of the homograph.
Repeat, but show a different meaning of the same word.

We will have a quiz Thursday on The Red Kayak.  The next two days we will be discussing the story, completing comprehension, and reviewing.
Students should go over their vocabulary and kinds of sentences.
